If you need to install the EPEL repository in cPanel for Centos 5.3, here is how you do it! Download the latest EPEL repository for i386:

wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm

Then, download the latest EPEL repository for x86_64

wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/x86_64/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm

Run the rpm install command:

rpm -Uvh epel-release-5*.rpm

If you want to change the priority of the repository edit this file : /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo and change this value "priority".
