The Challenge

A leading regional insurance company needed to modernise its entire customer-facing digital infrastructure. The existing systems were fragmented: policy management, claims processing, online payments, and corporate information operated independently with no unified digital experience for millions of insurance customers.

The challenge was threefold: build a scalable corporate portal capable of serving tens of thousands of monthly visitors, launch a cross-platform mobile application meeting enterprise-grade security requirements — including annual PENTEST assessments — and deploy an online payment platform compliant with PCI DSS. All three products had to integrate with the client's core insurance systems, the mandatory national insurance system, and FintechOS services, simultaneously and without disruption to existing operations.

Our Solution

Softescu became the client's primary digital engineering partner, architecting and building the complete ecosystem over a multi-year engagement. The corporate portal serves as the primary customer touchpoint, featuring interactive maps of nationwide partner networks — auto repair centres, damage assessment facilities, and partner medical clinics — dynamic claim notification workflows, county-based filtering, and a content management system enabling marketing teams to independently manage campaigns, press releases, and newsletters.

The mobile application, built with Angular and Ionic for both iOS and Android, introduced machine learning-based biometric KYC onboarding — automatically recognising both Romanian and international ID documents with real-time face detection and liveness validation. A companion ASP.NET Core microservices backend handles real-time synchronisation with the client's core platform, enabling household insurance policy purchases and health insurance claims directly from mobile devices.

The online payment platform handles multi-currency transactions (RON, EUR, USD) with automatic exchange rate conversion through Global Payments API integration. High-availability infrastructure — with redundant node deployment and comprehensive Disaster Recovery protocols — guarantees 99.9% uptime across all three platforms.
